del Rio kennels – home to belgian malinois bio picture

Welcome to del Rio malinois!

The Belgian Malinois is a highly athletic, intelligent and active breed. These are traits that first drew us into the Belgian Malinois.  Once you have brought one into your life, you discover how much more there is to fall in love with.  The Malinois can bring endless joy and at times, heartache. But throughout the journey with this wonderful breed, you will realize your life is so much more enriched than it would have been without a "Maligator" by your side.

Bobby and Angela live in Frederick County near Winchester, Virginia which is located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of northern Virginia, about an hour west of Washington, DC.

Their breeding program takes into consideration temperment and character, first and foremost, as well as the physical health of the parents.  The utmost concern is spent on development of the litter through the first few weeks of their lives, and training and upbringing of the Malinois once accepted into their loving homes. We stand by our puppies, not just as breeders, but as champions of the breed and friends of their new owners.

This blog will present you with the images, stories, and videos of our Malinois. At times, we will carry a story and a picture from our extended Malinois family. Feel free to contact us or comment on our site.

Big Congrats to Sarah & Cambria

Here’s Sarah’s email to us after her second Rally appearance Sunday: I am so proud of our baby. The rally judge was a collie breeder and asked how old she was.  When I told her that she was only 8 months, she was super impressed.  She said that it was amazing that such a young...

Kudos to Brooklyn in Illinois!

So this afternoon Miss Brooklyn ran in her first CPE trial.  We ran the standard course and jumped 16 inches.  Not only did she run perfectly, she had the best course time by more than 25 seconds at 30.07 seconds.  So we got a 1st place ribbon at her 1st run at her 1st trial! ...

May 18, 2010 - 10:15 pm Torrie Brown - Wow! If you didn't know the lead dog was a Mal and the trail was a Terv, you might think it was a longer haired Mal. The genetics of the Belgians blow me away!

The C Litter Turns Six Months

The little monkeys from the C Litter will be six months old tomorrow. We took VP [short for VesPer] out to Petsmart but before we did, I caught her in a short video clip with a phone in her mouth. She’s very much the talkative pup!
