del Rio kennels – home to belgian malinois bio picture

Welcome to del Rio kennels!

The Belgian Malinois is a highly athletic, intelligent and active breed. These are traits that first drew us into the Belgian Malinois.  Once you have brought one into your life, you discover how much more there is to fall in love with.  The Malinois can bring endless joy and at times, heartache. But through out the journey with this wonderful breed, you will realize your life is much more enriched than it would have been without a "Maligator" by your side.

Bobby and Angela live in Petersburg, Virginia which is located just south of Richmond, the state capitol of Virginia. Their breeding program takes into consideration the ultimate health of the parents, the development of the litter through the first few weeks of their lives, and the training and upbringing of the Malinois once accepted into their loving homes. We stand by our puppies, not just as breeders, but as champions of the breed and friends of their new owners.

This blog will present you with the images, stories, and videos of our Malinois. At times, we will carry a story and a picture from our extended Malinois family. Feel free to contact us or comment on our site.

Big Congrats to Sarah & Cambria

Here’s Sarah’s email to us after her second Rally appearance Sunday:
I am so proud of our baby. The rally judge was a collie breeder and asked how old she was.  When I told her that she was only 8 months, she was super impressed.  She said that it was amazing that such a young Mal...

Arco of Columbus

We’re in Georgia this weekend and we took a short trip down to Columbus, GA to visit Arco.  Arco is one of the pups from the del Rio Kennels C Litter.  As a pup, he was in a gang fight that took the tip of his ear.  Even with the slight ear-ectomy, he’s a beautiful...

A good weekend by all accounts

We had a very good weekend.  Miss Vesper Lynd, Bond’s first girl, took two majors this weekend.  We over the hump and the Vesper’s show career has just started.  We are not silly enough to believe this will continue to be the way – given how shows go, we might not get another point for...

May 18, 2010 - 10:15 pm Torrie Brown - Wow! If you didn't know the lead dog was a Mal and the trail was a Terv, you might think it was a longer haired Mal. The genetics of the Belgians blow me away!

The C Litter Turns Six Months

The little monkeys from the C Litter will be six months old tomorrow. We took VP [short for VesPer] out to Petsmart but before we did, I caught her in a short video clip with a phone in her mouth.
She’s very much the talkative pup!
