del Rio kennels – home to belgian malinois bio picture

Welcome to del Rio malinois!

The Belgian Malinois is a highly athletic, intelligent and active breed. These are traits that first drew us into the Belgian Malinois.  Once you have brought one into your life, you discover how much more there is to fall in love with.  The Malinois can bring endless joy and at times, heartache. But throughout the journey with this wonderful breed, you will realize your life is so much more enriched than it would have been without a "Maligator" by your side.

Bobby and Angela live in Frederick County near Winchester, Virginia which is located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of northern Virginia, about an hour west of Washington, DC.

Their breeding program takes into consideration temperment and character, first and foremost, as well as the physical health of the parents.  The utmost concern is spent on development of the litter through the first few weeks of their lives, and training and upbringing of the Malinois once accepted into their loving homes. We stand by our puppies, not just as breeders, but as champions of the breed and friends of their new owners.

This blog will present you with the images, stories, and videos of our Malinois. At times, we will carry a story and a picture from our extended Malinois family. Feel free to contact us or comment on our site.

Vesper, our purple girl

Allee Sablee Casino Royale del Rio is available to a loving home.  She has training in obedience, basic agility fundamentals, and conformation.  She loves, loves loves to fetch and simply must have a toy in her mouth at all times!  A hilariously funny girl, she is fun and happy all the time.  She easily works through stressful situations and is highly food and toy motivated.

She has both conformation majors (6 pts), but is nervous in the ring.  Vesper gets along great with other dogs, both male and female, and is not aggressive.  She was tested on livestock and showed no interest in either sheep or ducks as a young puppy.  We are continuing in obedience and agility classes.

Vesper will retrieve all day, and adores water!  She will leap in and fetch, even diving under water to retrieve.  She will make a fine competition dog for someone interested in obedience or agility, or a wonderful active pet.  Co-ownership available to the right home.  Vesper is from our C litter, born November 4, 2008.  She is sired by CH No-How So Far Away, 2008 AOM winner, ABMC national specialty (Finnish import), and out of our AKC/UKC CH Tango with Balderlo du Baiser Orageux TT.  She comes from generations of healthy dogs with sound temperaments.
