del Rio kennels – home to belgian malinois bio picture

Welcome to del Rio kennels!

The Belgian Malinois is a highly athletic, intelligent and active breed. These are traits that first drew us into the Belgian Malinois.  Once you have brought one into your life, you discover how much more there is to fall in love with.  The Malinois can bring endless joy and at times, heartache. But through out the journey with this wonderful breed, you will realize your life is much more enriched than it would have been without a "Maligator" by your side.

Bobby and Angela live in Petersburg, Virginia which is located just south of Richmond, the state capitol of Virginia. Their breeding program takes into consideration the ultimate health of the parents, the development of the litter through the first few weeks of their lives, and the training and upbringing of the Malinois once accepted into their loving homes. We stand by our puppies, not just as breeders, but as champions of the breed and friends of their new owners.

This blog will present you with the images, stories, and videos of our Malinois. At times, we will carry a story and a picture from our extended Malinois family. Feel free to contact us or comment on our site.

Available Dogs

Allee Sablee Brooklyn del Rio, CGC HIC is available to a loving home.  Brooklyn is by the late CH Saxo de Romanin (Belgian import) and out of AKC/UKC CH Tango with Balderlo du Baiser Orageux TT (French import).  She is from our 2007 B litter, born March 6, 2007.

Brooklyn is trained in obedience and agility and started in herding.  She is like her sister Thai in many ways, and is not only agile, but also biddable and loves to work.  She is also sweet-sweet-sweet and settles nicely in the house.  Fully housebroken, rides well loose or in a crate in the car, she would do best in a home with one or two male canine companions.  She has high prey drive, though, and should not be placed with small children or cats.  Brooklyn also loves water and will swim and leap in joyfully to fetch or play.

On March 31, 2010, Brooklyn had an accident and broke her left rear tibia bone.  It has been surgically repaired, no joints were involved, and she is now fully recovered.  She is completely sound.

For pictures, scroll down to our search field (bottom of page) type in ‘Brooklyn’ and you will get many photos of her.  Or click on our Contact page and send us an email.

Brooklyn loves to have her hair & nails done
