Today, at the Raleigh, NC show, Tammy was presented with a very nice win from breeder Judge Susie Williamson – a Five Point Major over Specials. Tammy now just needs one more point to finish her AKC championship. Since she already has her UKC championship, we can settle down and do some fun things…..like teach...

Well, in this video, we find Mr. Jackson of the B litter. He was Black Boy and was deemed the “prettiest” of them all. He’s turned out very nicely and has that typical Belgian enthusiasm and penchant for body slamming!

Another dog show, with mixed results. But that’s ok because I got to relax [somewhat] and hang out with some of the prettiest dogs. These are pics of puppy girl Emma, from Carol Shields’ kennel [www.cfphantom.com], Miss Mazey loved by Sharon Sparks of Rusty Road [www.rustyroadmalinois.com], and our Miss Thai. svgallery=2007-08-18_talbot

Yes, I know – these are definitely NOT Malinois but they are my second favorite breed: COLLIES! This litter is from Dune Collies in central VA. Angela and I went down to hang with Gene, play with puppies and take some fotos. I unfortunately lost all the images I had taken on one CF card...

During lunch today at Don Papa Grande’s Mexican Restaurant, a small child came up to our table with a plastic crate filled with tins. The tins contained scented candles. He was selling them to raise funds for school supplies. Well, the candle tins were obviously not the standard school issue type of product – I...

So, another Malinois puppy goes to Puppy Class graduation and notices the fly buzzing around the class, the whirring sound of the overhead fan, each person walking into the door of the training center, and tries to chase down every other puppy during recall. I’m one. I’ll admit it. But normally I’m on the butt end of one. RING SIDE DRIVERS. You know who and what I mean. Maybe not the moment you leave the ring and maybe not until after you take the traditional walk to the snack bar or concession stand do you hear “You know you...

I’ve finally gotten off my ass and changed the look of the site. Its a little less doggie and a bit more….well, a bit more “artsy” is what my dog friends would say. I’d say “Its about damn time”. AND it matches with the gallery. And that is a plus in my book.

I’ve been ill and haven’t been able to taste an thing so I’ve switched to Folgers Columbian ground as to not waste the good stuff. Its ok but not very satisfactory. I’ve had conflicted emotions lately about our Belgian breed. Not in a bad way but just one of those gut check, reality check moments....

I’ve been nursing a week “sinush infecshun” or a strong “nashal infecshun”……I talk funny, I sound funny, I’m always coughing and I have snot coming out of every pore. Ok, too much information….. Like many of us Belgian owners, our furry friends are often moody enough, smart enough, and inquisitive enough to be humans. I...

Sometimes, my tastes can be quite *interesting*….this morning its a cup o’ Starbucks Espresso with toasted potato bread topped with schmear of Tabasco brand Pepper Jelly. But in the a.m., its a nice way to wake up…. I was thinking that I need to turn Nino into a “cash” cow – he could be an...

Lunch time at the office…just finished a nice roast beef sandwich on rye, with *lechuga* and *cebollas* and a nice lathering of spicy brown mustard washed down with my second Diet Coke of the day. I’ve abandoned my Morning Rant/Rave subject moniker….it didn’t apply any longer because all sorts of blather spills from these fingers...

I’ve been drinking a very good cup of Fincas de Chiapas provided to me by a fellow Belg-L’er who had taken pity on my coffee binges…..Thank you Becky! Can you believe she sent it from OREGON to VIRGINIA??? And the Pony Express rider only asked for water for his horse……… Walking a dog in my...
