del Rio kennels – home to belgian malinois bio picture

Welcome to del Rio malinois!

The Belgian Malinois is a highly athletic, intelligent and active breed. These are traits that first drew us into the Belgian Malinois.  Once you have brought one into your life, you discover how much more there is to fall in love with.  The Malinois can bring endless joy and at times, heartache. But throughout the journey with this wonderful breed, you will realize your life is so much more enriched than it would have been without a "Maligator" by your side.

Bobby and Angela live in Frederick County near Winchester, Virginia which is located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of northern Virginia, about an hour west of Washington, DC.

Their breeding program takes into consideration temperment and character, first and foremost, as well as the physical health of the parents.  The utmost concern is spent on development of the litter through the first few weeks of their lives, and training and upbringing of the Malinois once accepted into their loving homes. We stand by our puppies, not just as breeders, but as champions of the breed and friends of their new owners.

This blog will present you with the images, stories, and videos of our Malinois. At times, we will carry a story and a picture from our extended Malinois family. Feel free to contact us or comment on our site.

Early Evening Rant: More Bits and Pieces

Morning Rave: Bit and Pieces

Picture of Paris: when she feels she has been slighted by being made to be outside, she will lay on the top step of the deck and peer through the gate to the backdoor. Some muddled pictures of baby beasties: Not the best but THEY SLEEP ALL THE TIME! Can’t wait until they are tearing...

Late Night Rave: Puppy Slurps

I’ve been staying up pretty late all week trying to get mag ads and school related things accomplished. I’ve been kept company each night by the sounds of the pups and their night feeding. Its an interesting sound – a cross of gulping, moaning, whining, grunting, and mewing noises. I’ll turn around from my desk...

Morning Rant: Where’s my babies’ Daddy?

Two cups into a wonderful VIrginia morning……..I haven’t seen my babies’ daddy around. I don’t think that good for nothing has a job either. I’ve heard from others that he has other children around that he isn’t supporting.  I bet he doesn’t have a dime to his name and probably living at his mom’s house...

Late Night Rant: Where’s the Puppettes?

Its too late for coffee so I’m sipping at a large mug o’ chocolate….. Tammy was due to deliver puppies yesterday (March 02).  They never arrived. I gave her a pep talk.  She dropped a toy at my feet and wanted to tug. We took her temperature every 4-6 hours, recorded the readings and waited....
