The Belgian Malinois is a highly athletic, intelligient and active breed. These are traits that first drew us into the Belgian Malinois. Once you have brought one into your life, you discover how much more there is to fall in love with. The Malinois can bring endless joy and at times, heartache. But through out the journey with this wonderful breed, you will realize your life is much more enriched than it would have been without a "Maligator" by your side.
Bobby and Angela live in Petersburg, Virginia which is located just south of Richmond, the state capitol of Virginia. Their breeding program takes into consideration the ultimate health of the parents, the development of the litter through the first few weeks of their lives, and the training and upbringing of the Malinois once accepted into their loving homes. We stand by our puppies, not just as breeders, but as champions of the breed and friends of their new owners.

On rainy Sunday, I dragged the two puppies out to the front yard for some mandatory picture posing and posturing….these two puppies love each other to death. They are always playing and truly enjoy hanging out together.

January 4, 2010 - 3:20 am - @Torrie, all of our dogs are used to seeing the camera from the time they were pups so when I do bring one out, its a non-event for them. I do have to guard against them jumping on me when I squat or kneel though - they think I want to play. Bobby
January 3, 2010 - 10:05 pm - I love these vidoes! They are so funny. What do you think our dogs are thinking when they see the vidoe camera or digital come out? This girl looked like she knew she was being filmed. She stops her happy dance, looks right at the camera for a few, sort of lifts an eyebrow like, "Ok, I'll do it again." and off she goes. Mals are such comedians and hams.

Took a few pictures to share of Miss Brooklyn and puppy Bono. Miss Brooklyn is owned by Jay and Kristen who have just welcomed their first baby into the family. Brooklyn will be with us for a few months. We’ll be taking a good hard looking at breeding this beautiful bitch who looks a lot like her daddy Socks. Enjoy!

Funny how history repeats itself?
“Ok, I had some coffee [but no toast yet] when I read a post from yesterday that started me thinking………..[yes, cue the music....but nothing from the Sound of Music]
What are those repeated subjects that send people off on the email flaming/hurricane wars – not just this Belgian lists but other groups as well [but especially with Belgians]?
My picks but not necessarily in order of rank:
1. Raw vs kibble [my dogs coats/teeth are better than yours, I've raised many litters on this/that, raw is guesswork...........]
2. Protection type sports [don't understand/get it, our breed was meant to do this, I don't want my dog to want to bite children]
3. “Show” vs. “working” lines [which often leads to number 4 and often meanders into "What is the standard, screw the standard"]
4. Our Belgian temperaments
5. New age vs. traditional training [Clicker, yank and spank, negative reinforcement/negative punishment, e-collars]
6. Shampoos, coat types
7. Bad breeder, good breeder
8. AKC ‘good’, AKC ’sucks’
9. Pro vs. amateur handling and handlers, “Biased” judges and favoritism
10. Brags [you're bragging about that?, no one replied to my brag with congrats, I wouldn't brag about that, he/she's always bragging]
11. PETA! and animal rights, legislation
12. Where will my dog go, when I finally go?
13. stupid emails such as this…………
**14. Health checks, clearances, interpretations i.e. OFA [new to 2010]
………..Gotta get more coffee…..

Tammy and Thai do this thing in which they will tug on a toy but without TUGGING. They will just stand there, waiting for the other to do something. They will not make a sound or move a muscle. Its bizarre.

Finally took some time to take some pictures of Bono-Bono-Bono. He’s grown into a nice pup with the sweetest temperament – although, he himself will admit that he is spoiled. ENJOY!
I just realized after I posted the recent pics of Vesper and Bono in the fight to the finish that there was a prelude…….The Original Cage Match!
Bono and Vesper like to play fight and challenge each other. They end up covered in spit, tired and happy. What else is there for puppies to do?

Over the weekend, I had a chance to take photos of the boy [Bono], Piper [she's all grow'ed up], and the bouncy Cambria.
Day Two of P.E. {puppy experience}.
I feel like a brand new puppy owner. Seriously.
This puppy has been able to have the run of the house. We’ve changed our rules for this one. We’re allowing the other adults {and Vesper} to patrol the puppies boundaries. It’s funny how the adults know what is allowed and what is not allowed in the house. And they have been keeping an eye on him. Vesper, who is only 9 months herself, is starting to understand she cannot rough house as much with the wee bairn as she could with the others.
And I continue to shoot and process photos from Day One of P.E.

Mr. Bono aka Rockstar aka Bonehead was able to take in his first Virginia morning. Ireland du Hameau Saint Blaise, also known as Bono, puttered around, picked up pine cones, chewed on some grass, and ran around like a crazy dog. He did stay still long enough for me to shoot some pics.

in a few days, Angela will be back from Europe. She spent time in Belgium, France and England. The main goal was to bring back a puppy from du Hameau Saint Blaise. The puppy boy will be named Ireland du Hameau Saint Blaise.
Call name? BONO as in Bono from U2.
Still don’t know who I’m talking about? Google it!
Anyways, we’ll be inundating you with the “first” pics but I thought I’d share some that I have been keeping under my hat. This is the “I” litter at about five weeks.
